There’s no better Monday motivation for us than seeing one of our very own clients achieving great things.

Libby has been on quite a journey in the past year, but it’s been a good one.

Starting at 21% body fat and 68.1kg, Libby now sits at 14% body fat and 62.5kg. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

  • Lean muscle

Libby was able to achieve results like this even though she has a very busy work schedule. This is where a decent plan of action comes in extremely useful. We focused on strength training (3 x week), a little conditioning work and nutrition. 💪🏻🥵🍏

Libby enjoys the weights training, dislikes conditioning training, but when it comes to nutrition, she 80% there. And that’s all it needs. It doesn’t need to be perfect, it needs to be consistent. 🔑

Libby enjoys socialising with food and wine, and on many occasions we are right there with her. Most recently, it’s been a steak or curry house.
It’s important for us to teach our clients ‘all things in moderation‘. There isn’t anything you can’t have, you just need to be realistic with your approach and stay committed. This is exactly what Libby has done and she’s had a lot of fun along the way. YOLO!!! 🍷🥩🍛😋

A couple of years back, I was a keen gym-goer alongside having a long-term passion for practicing dance and yoga, but always knew (and physically it showed) that I wasn’t challenging myself anywhere near enough. I had also just completed my first RYT 200hr course to start teaching Hatha Yoga classes and had a couple of local classes underway. Although I was confident with my style and approach to teaching, I can admit that I didn’t feel my overall body strength matched the goals I had set myself to further my own practice to subsequently put back into my teaching.

After looking into various personal trainers in the Reading area, I was recommended to Stewart at SMPT by a work colleague who had recently started training with him. First impressions were great, we got on, Stewart listened to my objectives and produced a structured plan.

I always felt that personal trainers were a luxury, but it soon became very clear that having one (a really good one) was making a big difference in a relatively short space of time. Over the past couple of years, Stewart and Tansy have helped me achieve my goals of losing body fat (brilliantly helped by BioSig), building lean muscle and increase fitness. As the results started to increase so did my determination to maximize all my best efforts not just in the gym, but at work, teaching yoga and most importantly with my friends and family too. How’s about that for a healthy mind-body connection? 😊

Exercise and moving well is very important to me and being able to work out beyond the studio, implementing the learnings they’ve taught has been key. It’s true that you have to be determined to fit in the workouts in-between the ‘life bits’ and think about your food prep, but once you realize that you can make quick, healthy meals as easy as making a sandwich, you can transform the way you eat and plan. And yes, I occasionally indulged in treats or a meal out and my main job involves working in the wine industry, so I do enjoy a good glass now and then. For me, this is about balancing a healthy life with enjoying life and knowing that if you can stick to plan, you’re making long-lasting changes.

As you can see by the smile on my face in the second photo, I’m really happy with my progress and excited to continue my fitness journey and training with SMPT, as I find their approach structured, fun, realistic and super positive. They’re awesome people too and it’s been privilege and pleasure to have got to know them both. I would like to thank them for the training support and encouragement they’ve given me.
